I'm so excited!

I am just thrilled about this upcoming year! There is so much to be thankful for and look forward to!

I'm thankful first of all for my little family. I love Cody and McKenna so much and feel so blessed to have been given them. I truly don't deserve them. I am also so very thankful for our individual families. They are always there for us and are all wonderful people!

I'm excited that we'll be out of debt and able to buy our own house this year! That is such a huge thing to me. How awesome will that be to be able to say that this early in our lives? That we are debt-free and own our own home?! This is another reason I am thankful for my family and for Cody. If it weren't for my parents letting us live with them while we pay things off and Cody being so strict (even though I hate it sometimes) about money that we spend, this wouldn't be possible. It just makes me thrilled to know that we'll be able to give McKenna a good life.

I'm also hoping to try and get into shape this year, as is everyone else in the world I'm sure. Not just losing weight, but getting in shape and healthy. I want to be able to keep up with McKenna when she goes running around! I would also like to be a little more in shape if/when I get pregnant again. I think it would make the recovery for my body a little better next time around!

I am grateful for my job and the doctors that I work for are wonderful! I'm excited to see how the practice develops and changes over the next year. I love my coworkers and am glad to have made some great friends in the time that I've been here.

I'm sure I could keep going on, but these things were on my mind this morning so I thought I'd share!

Wow....

Has it really been since March that I posted on here?! Guess I've been busy...I've kept up with all things baby a little better on the baby blog, but now that she's here and officially a part of the family, I think I'll just keep this one updated. It's been a little too long on both of them to catch up on everything, so I'll hit the major points, post some pictures, and try to keep up better from here on out.

McKenna was born August 10 weighing in at 6lbs 7oz and 19 1/2 inches long. She's a beautiful little girl and we love her sooo much! Recently her personality has really started to develop. She's so happy all the time unless she's hungry or tired. We recently started her on baby food and she loves it! She didn't know what to think at first but by the second day she was slurping it down. She was trying to take my hand and shove the spoon into her mouth! Her technique is a little off... She's holding her head up perfectly all on her own. She can almost sit up by herself and she isn't crawling yet, but she's trying to get there! She has definitely found her voice and lets us know if she feels like she's being ignored. She loves Dad so much! I know she loves me too, but she just lights up when she sees him. It's the cutest thing ever.

We moved in with my parents in July. We are paying off debt and saving up for a down payment on a house. It's not the most ideal situation for anyone, but it's working out pretty well. It's going to be so nice to start out in our own place free of debt. I'm so excited. We've kind of started to look at houses but we're not quite there yet.

I think that's about it... :)

So this weekend was pretty fun....

It started on Friday when I left work. I got to talk to a friend that I haven't seen or talked to in a few years. It's always awesome to catch up like that! Jillian and Justin cooked a yummy beef tip and noodle pasta dinner then we watched a movie with them! I also got another phone call from someone that I hadn't talked to in too long. I was very happy to get that phone call and hope there are many more in the future between the two of us!

Cody worked Saturday so Jillian and I went to IHOP with Cody's mom, Barb. It was soooo yummy! When Cody got home we went to Wal-Mart. That was the first time we'd been there in a while! Crazy people up in Wal-Mart, let me tell ya! We had a quick little dinner at home just the two of us and caught up on some things on the DVR. Then, as has become habit for me, he played his video game so I could go to sleep. I fall asleep so quickly when he's playing! He doesn't ask me if he can play, I make him so I can sleep!!!

Sunday we woke up fairly early and I finished the laundry that I'd started Saturday. We played WII for a couple hours. It's so fun to be a big kid and hang out with Cody like that. We laughed so hard! He changed the oil in my car and got cleaned up. I decided that I didn't want to be in the house, I didn't care what we did!! So we went "window shopping" for houses. It was nice to kind of look around at the possibilities the future may hold. Came home, started a movie...THEN my mom and Randy came over to have dinner and hang out. We did some burgers on the grill. We ended up inviting Justin and Jillian over because we had some extra food. We all sat around and talked while we ate. After dinner we played some Super Mario Bro. WII. OMG! That was a blast! My mom played and she surprised me at how fast she picked it up!
The rest of us took turns playing. I laughed so hard! It was awesome to spend time with them like that! I hope we can do it again soon!

It was such a relaxing, fun weekend full of family and laughter! I want EVERY weekend to be like that!!

Time "March"-es On

So it is the lovely month of March. Not much going on 'round these here parts.

We went out to Wylie the other night to see some old friends. Brian, Jess, and Madison are all doing great it would appear. Madison is getting so big!!! She is precious and has a beautiful smile. I think we've only seen them once or twice since we moved so it was really great to catch up. Levi and Jessica just welcomed their first baby last week so we got to meet her! We haven't seen them at all since we moved. It's horrible and I think we must get together with them more often!! Their daughter is Wylie and she is such a perfect newborn! And oh so tiny!!! She likes me better than Cody, I think! She crinkled her nose at first when he held her! I am pretty sure Madison likes him better though. She was very still with him.

Being around these beautiful babies has me excited and scared!!! I have NO clue what to do with a baby! I am so relieved that my mom is here and she can help me! I also have family and friends that have had babies recently so they're fresh on things and I know won't mind my constant questions. It's good I have a few people to talk to. I wouldn't want to focus all my questions on one person. That would be exhausting for them!!!

I have a doctor appointment today! I'm going to see if he can tell what the baby is. If he can and he's sure he's right, I'll have him print the pictorial proof, write it on a piece of paper, and securely seal it in an envelope. then sometime tonight Cody and I will look at it together! He can't come with me to my appointment and I don't want to find out what we're having without him! If we do find out today there will be some mass texting and Facebooking going on tonight! I'm trying not to get my hopes up because I am about 2 weeks earlier than when they like to try to figure out the sex. I have heard, though, of people finding out at 16 weeks so it's worth a shot!

I guess that's about it for now! I'll let you know how it goes!!!

The Day of Lurve

This V-day was a great one! We didn't really do a whole lot. Just spent some alone time together. Last year I had gotten some steaks and marinated them overnight. That was going to be our V-day dinner. Well....of course it would rain! The steaks had to wait for another night. So our last minute dinner...Sonic! This will now become our tradition! So this year we went to Sonic for lunch and did lasagna for dinner. We also watched a movie. Good times.

I didn't think that we were really doing much present wise. We generally don't because we buy stuff all year so when it comes to present holidays, there's not much to get! lol I made him a candy bouquet and got him a card. Now, his present to me requires a back story and a sense of humor! The week before V-day, I had gotten and forwarded to Cody a text that said "No woman will ever be satisfied on Valentine's Day because there is no such thing as a chocolate penis wrapped in money that ejaculates diamonds." He never responded and I thought nothing more of it. Well....guess what my present was!!! A chocolate penis wrapped in money that was "ejaculating" diamonds! I laughed SOO hard!! That is by far the best gift I have EVER gotten!! He is going to have to try really hard to top that. I LOVED IT! He had gotten a penis shaped cake pan and turned it into a chocolate mold. He stuck a pair of diamond earrings and a diamond journey necklace coming out of the...umm...tip. It was wrapped in saran wrap and had one dollar bills taped to it! It seriously was awesome! He also sent me beautiful flowers at work. (Can't let those be overshadowed by my chocolate penis!)

He really is so thoughtful and sweet to me. I love that he gets me and knew that I would love that! We have the same sense of humor for the most part. I KNOW that we are meant to be together. Sometimes, I think he's perfect. Other times, not so much. But V-day was perfect this year! Can't wait to see what the rest of our lives hold!!

Happy Birthdays to Us!

Cody and I are one year and a few days apart, me being the older one of course! Throughout our marriage we have combined presents for Christmas, birthdays, Valentines Day, etc. We also put our birthday money we get from family towards these combined gifts. Otherwise, we couldn't afford them on our own! I love that we do this! I'd rather buy something practical that we'll both enjoy instead of something random that only one of us can get use out of. Yes, we treat our individual selves sometimes, but I think the bigger presents should be mutually beneficial. I think it's great that we're both like that!

My 25th birthday was on January 23rd. Cody got me(us) a digital picture frame which I am in love with! We never did print out pics of our wedding...or anything since we've been together! It's nice to finally be able to see all of those memories randomly. You can even plug in a memory card or flash drive when the internal memory gets full. It's great! We also got a new digital camera. This will come in VERY handy when the baby FINALLY gets here!! It's a Samsung I think and it is a 12.2 megapixel camera. We haven't taken a TON of pictures since we've been together but I think we plan to now that we have a decent camera. We went out to eat and to a movie with my parents which was FUN!! It'd been too long since we went out with them! We ate at Cheddar's and saw Leap Year. Such a cute movie!! We also went over to my in-laws that weekend for a yummy dinner and some cake!

His 24th birthday is coming up on February 7th. I already gave him his present because I can't wait for stuff like that!!! I got him(us...well mostly him) a Logitec Harmony 900 universal remote. We had another universal remote but it was pretty crappy. It has a touch screen and is RF (meaning it can work through walls). He loved it! I'm glad too because he is so hard to buy for! Can I just say that I love finding things on sale! We're going out to eat tonight and then over to his parents on Sunday for dinner and cake. I'm not sure what else the weekend holds!

AND THEN Valentines Day is coming up. I'm not really sure what we'll be doing about that either. But, it doesn't matter because I will be with my Love and that's all I need!!!

Oops...I forgot!

I completely forgot to update this blog! lol Cody and I found out in December that we're having a baby! The due date is August 17. I started a baby blog! It's www.baby-wells2010.blogspot.com So go check it out when you have a chance! All baby updates will be on that one. We are super excited!

We're still in Allen, although in August when our lease is up (and when the baby is due!) we will be moving back to Wylie. I'm excited about that! I miss Wylie.

We added a new dog to the family for a couple months. When we got the baby news we really had to think about space and money, so little Lilly now lives with Justin and Jillian. I know she's happy there with her brother. Chloe doesn't seem to miss her which I think is sad. She's loving having all the attention to herself these days!

Everything else is pretty much the same! Can't complain! Well, only about the morning sickness (which will be worth it) but that's info for another blog!
